Help is always needed for playing with dogs, washing and grooming, clean-up and trips to and from the vet. We are hoping for some foster homes also and help with our mobile adoptions which are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of the month from 12-4. Please e-mail if you are interested in helping out with any of these things.

Who We Are:


GONE 4 THE DOGS is a small home rescue that began a few years ago with one dog in the shelter that was about to be euthanized and there was no one to help him on his last day to live. We had been fostering dogs for a few years and decided to just try one on our own. It worked out well for him so we thought we would try another. Things just went on from there. LAST YEAR WE PLACED 359 DOGS AND CATS! The dogs and cats here have run of the house, just like our own. Most of them are under 15 pounds and they have their own room which was once our patio that has since been enclosed with a doggy door to the outside and one to the inside. Most of them stay in the house most of the time but they do have their own room in case they want it. Many of these little furry friends have been rescued from the city shelter on their last days. Besides small breeds, we are now accepting FRIENDLY purebred Boxers for rescue. We also have room for a small number of purebred young adult cats and kittens of any breed. If you would like to make a donation of your time, food, clumping cat litter, treats or toys, they would be very much appreciated. We accept donations @ www.paypal.com, using gone4thedogs@suddenlink.net as the e-mail address. We can microchip your dog or cat for $25. This can be done at the time of adoption or any other time you like so please ask if you are interested in having this done. PLEASE NO phone calls before 4:00 PM.....DAY SLEEPER. Calls made before 4:00 will not be answered or returned. E-mail is the preferred method of communication and the quickest way to be answered.

GONE 4 THE DOGS' dogs are not kenneled unless absolutely necessary, for their own protection. (Occasionally we get a get away artist.) All dogs are free to go in and out of their room to the outside whenever they like and most of them are allowed inside the house most of the day and night. Because of this, more information about their personality is known. WISH LIST.....We need baby blankets, cleaning supplies, office supplies, dog or cat kennels, toys, treats, cat litter and food. Most of all, we need VOLUNTEERS AND KURANDA BEDS!!!!! Please help us save more lives by doing what you can. Thanks. Gone 4 The Doggies...

If you are interested in adopting, please e-mail for adoption application until one is available online. Adoption fee can be paid in cash or paypal. To have a dog held for up to a week for out of town adoptors, paypal is accepted. Please pay to gone4thedogs@suddenlink.net . Dogs cannot be held without payment. ***Please have your adoption application approved before paying for a dog on paypal or your payment will be considered a donation.***

This is a small rescue with no full time help so please e-mail ahead for an appointment to come visit.
